Get Uncomfortable
I made a Facebook post this week about attending a strength class. A gal commented, "I want to attend, but that class scares me!" My response, "Then that's all the more reason to show up and try it!" Another gal was in a conversation about being fearful of attending a Zumba class because she didn't know the moves. You will never know the moves unless you show up and try! In Real Estate we say, "Your home can't sell if it's not on the market!" You can't get stronger if you're not in strength class or lifting weights, just as you can't learn the Zumba moves if you don't give yourself a chance to learn!
If something new scares you, first stop and ask yourself why. Simply saying something is a challenge for you is an excuse. If you're ready for change and it meets your priority list to attempt it, then go after it! Conquering your fears and challenges makes you a better person inside and out.
This could even be far more than health and fitness. It might be confronting someone who needs reconciliation with you, making a job change, or crossing something big off your bucket list! I ask myself that same questions, "What fear do I need to conquer?"
