We lock the doors in our cars, homes, and businesses. We get really picky about our clothing, electronics, and kids' activities. It really floors me that we don't spend as much time and energy on getting more protective of our bodies and focus more on how our foods are prepared and what we're eating!

It really floors me that we don't spend as much time and energy on getting more protective of our bodies and focus more on how our foods are prepared and what we're eating!
I realized recently that in order to get results, we must get territorial. We've each been given one body and we get one chance at this life on earth. Wouldn't you want to treat your body well and really knock this life out of the park? If you knew you only had one car your whole life, you'd probably be getting oil changes, tune ups, and using high quality gasoline all the time. If the house you're living in now was your forever home, you'd pour tons of time, energy, and money into it to make it its best so it makes it the long haul.
This is it. We don't get to buy another body. But honestly, we get pretty abusive with it, really. Lack of sleep, lack of water, and high amounts of fat, carbs, and calories in to the ONE body we get for the rest of our lives is not treating it with respect. It's time to get territorial of the property we've been given!
In order to get territorial, to be protective of this prized possession, we must stop, think, and take initiative. We must stop to analyze the big picture of our calorie content, our water intake, and our quality and quantity of sleep. We must think about the cause and effect of eating certain foods or maintaining certain habits over long periods of time. And we must take initiative to seek out food nutritionals, ingredients, and preparation methods in the foods we buy and purchase in the restaurants we visit.
Otherwise, we're just handing over the reigns to the man behind the stove at that restaurant down the street. Stop and think about it. Is Joe at Sparky's Grill really in more control of your health than you are? Not happy with your results? Step up and stake out your territory!
